Where to Find (& Catch) Mismagius in Pokémon Violet
Pokémon Violet Trainers can find Mismagius by searching in specific locations after nightfall, the time during which Mismagius prefers to roam.
One of the best Ghost-type pocket monsters to use in combat during the mid to late game of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is Mismagius, the nocturnal evolved form of Misdreavus, a Violet exclusive. Being a Violet exclusive Pokémon does not mean Scarlet players cannot obtain Mismagius. Violet users can trade this Ghost-type evolution to Scarlet fans or host them within their world for a Wild Encounter. Scarlet players can only find this specific pocket monster within Paldea of their version. As for those on Pokémon Violet, Mismagius can appear in multiple locations on the world map.
The first location in Pokémon Violet where Mismagius can appear is Casseroya Lake on the northwestern side of Paldea. Mismagius can potentially spawn anywhere across the lake, making the search quite tedious if the spawn rate happens to be low. Keep in mind that Aquatic Mode for Miraidon must be unlocked for traversal across the water. This Mount upgrade becomes available once Trainers have defeated the Titan called Open Sky Titan: Bombirdier. This Titan’s lair is in West Province (Area One), north of the zone’s Pokécenter.
Mismagius’ Location in Pokémon Violet
Mismagius can also spawn in the area north of Alfornada in the southwestern portion of Paldea or around the mountain ranges in West Glaseado Mountain in Pokémon Violet. If Trainers are still struggling to find this Ghost-type pocket monster, it is recommended that they search at the unnamed lake by the North Province (Area One) Watchtower. According to YouTube content creator Techno Trainer, this lake is the best spot for encountering a Wild Mismagius in Pokémon Violet. Similar to Misdreavus, Mismagius only spawns after nightfall based on in-game hours. Therefore, players must carry out their search at night, as the Ghost-type pocket monster will not appear during the day.
After finding Mismagius in Pokémon Violet, the next step is to weaken it for a successful capture. While not necessary, it can be helpful to know the elemental strengths and weaknesses of this ghostly evolution for easier combat. First, Mismagius is a Ghost-type Pokémon, meaning that it is weak to Dark- and Ghost-type attacks. Players should avoid using Fighting- or Normal-type Moves, as Mismagius is immune to these elements. Finally, Mismagius possesses resistance to Bug- and Poison-type Movesets but can be damaged normally by Fire-, Water-, Grass-, Electric-, Ice-, Ground-, Flying-, Psychic-, Rock-, Dragon-, Steel-, and Fairy-type Movesets in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
