Where To Find The Hippogriff Marks the Spot Location In Hogwarts Legacy

The Hippogriff Marks the Spot quest opens up to players in Hogwarts Legacy after they find a map leading them to many treasures blocked by puzzles.

The side quest called “The Hippogriff Marks the Spot” in Hogwarts Legacy leads players toward treasure in the open world when they follow directions to a certain location. This mission also connects to the “Rescuing Rococo” and “Solved by the Bell” quests, so players may have extra incentive to find the right area. Although there are several enemies that players must defeat to reach this location, the clues they learn to activate this quest give them an advantage when searching the expansive map.

A Small Bandit Camp at Poidsear Coast hosts the map players will need to start the quest, found lying inside a half-open tent to the west of a nearby set of ruins. Named Henrietta’s Map, players will have to contend with bandits to grab this item and several Ashwinders whose nests are in the region. Defeating these creatures could give players Ashwinder eggs in Hogwarts Legacy, an important ingredient for creating powerful potions for combat.

Finding The Hippogriff Marks the Spot Location in Hogwarts Legacy

The location that this quest wants players to go to is Henrietta’s Hideaway, among some ruins at the edge of Manor Cape. There are three drawings on Henrietta’s Map, with one giving a clue for players to infer exactly where this spot happens to be. By checking the player’s map of the Highlands and referencing it with the upper right drawing, the red arrow points to the specific part of Henrietta’s Hideaway that leads to the next steps of the quest. Players will know they are at the right place when the tunnel below the ruins leads toward a statue of the Hippogriff flying mount in Hogwarts Legacy with several braziers surrounding it.

Casting the Revelio spell helps lead players toward different rewards found throughout the area, including new pieces of gear. A spell cube puzzle must be solved further into the area to continue the quest, leading players to a Hippogriff statue whose braziers must be aligned to match the drawing seen on Henrietta’s Map.

Other spells that help players get through the remainder of this quest are Incendio, Confringo, and Wingardium Leviosa, which light up the mentioned braziers and lift puzzle objects respectfully. Setting the right braziers on fire opens a secret section of the Hideaway to reveal a hidden chest with a rare piece of gear inside called the Treasure-Seeker’s Gloves. Other quests in Hogwarts Legacy also tie into the puzzles within the Hippogriff Marks the Spot location, leading players to even more earnings.
