Which “Evil Superman” Character Are You Based On Your Zodiac Sign?

[ad_1]

Superman is possibly the most recognizable superhero in the world, but his presence in recent media has been odd. Henry Cavill returning to the role after a hiatus has fans celebrating, but between Justice League and today, plenty of shows filled Superman’s void. These shows were The Boys and Invincible, and they filled it with a corrupted copy of the Man of Steel.

“Evil Superman” is a bit of an inaccurate term, as not every copy of Superman in popular media is a simple morality flip of Clark Kent. Some of them might even attempt to do good, but they all find themselves with flaws and idiosyncrasies, nonetheless. This makes them have parallels with the signs of the zodiac, meaning that fans can find out who they are most like — for good or ill.

Aries – Omni-Man

Invincible omni-man

Aries leads the charge of the zodiac as the first sign of the new year. They have a courageous determination that causes them to charge forward first. The sign is also quite passionate, which can cause them to sometimes become aggressive and short-tempered. This is fitting for a scout sent ahead to prepare a planet for invasion.

This description fits the father of the titular hero of Invincible, Omni-Man, who plays up the role of the Superman substitute well. He has similar powers of super strength and flight but used them instead to impatiently exterminate Earth’s defenses. This attitude, as well as his courageous role as a scout, mark him as an Aries.

Taurus – Regime Superman

Injustice Superman with red eyes

There are a lot of alternate universes in which Superman is evil, but Injustice is probably the most famous modern. He started as the same boy scout but later became an uncompromising and highly possessive force who wanted order at all costs. Wanting that order did give him a lot of good traits, though, like being a consistent and devoted person.

The Taurus is similarly consistent. The sign can be controlling and domineering, but in moderation, this results in someone who is reliable, practiced, and devoted. These are all traits that the Regime’s Superman had before his dark turn. Any Taurus shouldn’t see themselves as the Regime’s terrifying leader, but as the caring blue boy he used to be.

Gemini – Scion

The Scion from Worm apears as a golden humanoid in front of the novel Worm's cover.

Gemini are known for acting typically in pairs. They often find themselves working best with a partner and get lost easily without a guide. Despite this, they are easily adaptable and are quick to learn, but they can often be soft-spoken and misunderstood in larger groups.

Scion from the superhero web serial Worm fits the traits of the Gemini well. He was originally sent to Earth, alongside a partner, and when they were destroyed, he lost his purpose. He’s a more alien take on Superman, speaking little and having values incompatible with mankind. He’s incredibly powerful, befitting a Gemini, but his loneliness eventually causes him to become evil.

Cancer – Suppaman

Suppaman, a very blatant Superman parody in the anime Dr. Slump.

Dr. Slump is not as famous as its author, Akira Toriyama’s, other famous series, Dragon Ball. It’s worth checking out, though, as it’s a laugh riot and actually shares a universe with Dragon Ball. Appearing in Slump and in one small part of the Dragon Ball anime is Kenta Kuraaka. He’s a loudmouthed self-proclaimed superhero under the name Suppaman/Sourman based around sour plums.

He’s a far cry from Superman, as he can be insecure, frequently challenging others to pointless displays of strength. He does have his good qualities though — he’s tenacious and highly imaginative. He never gives up training his body, no matter how often he’s bested by others, and does attempt to do some good, much like a Cancer always does.

Leo – Homelander

Homelander in The Boys

Leo is the most boisterous and cheerful sign of the zodiac. They can be pretty funny and warm-hearted, but this can also turn into arrogance. They often act in leadership roles, alongside Aries. It’s fitting, then, that the most famous “Evil Superman” characters of Omni-Man and Homelander are Aries and Leo, respectively.

One might not think that someone like Homelander has any good traits, but in The Boys: Diabolical, audiences do see that he initially tried to be a hero. He had a passion for the job and earnestly believed in the goodness of people. Only after many years of decline did he become the famous Homelander of the show. Time will tell if he taps back into those positive traits or not.

Virgo – Last Son Of Alcatraz

One probably wouldn’t expect to find superhero pastiches in one of the scariest analog horror series. But Monument Mythos’ third season features a variety of superhero corruptions alongside its eldritch horrors. The Last Son of Alcatraz is a clear horror take on Superman, being a survivor from a dead world who finds he has incredible powers in this one.

The Last Son is a classic hardworking Virgo who puts in a lot of effort and hates being rude. Unfortunately, he also shares Virgo’s trait of being extremely self-critical. This means he doesn’t forgive himself when he’s tricked into doing horrible acts. He does become a villain, but his Virgo traits show he’s a nice guy, deep down.

Libra – Ikaris

Ikaris stands on a mountain in Eternals

Marvel’s The Eternals featured a lot of spins on classic mythological characters, ranging from Circe to Gilgamesh to even Superman. While technically Ikaris was based on the Greek figure of Icarus, he has a lot in common with the Man of Steel as an alien with a rigid moral code. Like most Eternals, Ikaris is a Libra.

His Libra traits show in his love and appreciation of the natural world. They also show through his cooperation with other Eternals throughout the movie. Unfortunately, he ultimately becomes the final villain through secret orders that he was forced to carry out. Virgos do hate injustice and dishonesty, after all.

Scorpio – Hyperion

Marvel Comics has many pastiches of Superman, like The Sentry, but Hyperion was the first. This member of the Squadron Supreme is rumored to be soon appearing in Thunderbolts. Considering that team has many powerful supervillains in its ranks, Hyperion needs to be a Scorpio in order to combat them. Scorpios are known for their resourcefulness and incredible power, after all.

There are many versions of Hyperion throughout Marvel’s alternative realities. Typically, he’s an alien with a massive might-makes-right mentality. He has also been a hero, struggling to uphold truth and justice in a world that often makes it difficult. Both incarnations of this Marvel mainstay have traits befitting a Scorpio.

Sagittarius – Tighten

Tighten from Megamind, a big orange-haired guy, spits a mean insult while flying.

Megamind is largely an underrated movie and it comes with an underrated Superman clone, as well. While Brad Pitt’s character, Metro Man, might initially seem like more of an “Evil Superman” than Hal Stewart, Metro Man is just a minor jerk. When Hal Stewart gets access to superpowers, he goes on a full supervillain power trip.

As an unpowered normal guy, Hal was an idealistic and funny guy, fitting his Sagittarius sign. Once he becomes the villain Tighten, the Sagittarian impatience and tendency to eschew diplomacy rear their heads. That said, in the video game adaptation he fixes up his act and becomes a hero, genuinely becoming as generous as a Sagittarius is.

Capricorn – The Plutonian

The Plutonian Smashing Rocks

Coming from the series, Irredeemable, is the Plutonian, who earnestly did try to become a superhero before turning to villainy, unlike many other “evil Superman” characters. He was a disciplined and serious crime fighter but was unable to take any criticism. This eventually drove him to villainy against those who criticized him, which he ended up regretting.

These are traits known well to those born under Capricorn, who can likely sympathize a small amount with him. Those with this sign are very deliberate people and great managers who always take care to manage their strengths, but are also not very good at taking criticism, at times. Capricorn represents strength and the skill to use it well, which is why the Plutonian’s story is tragic.

Aquarius – Dr. Manhattan

Aquarius is the sign on the zodiac most different from every other sign, standing alone with original and completely independent plans and goals. They do appreciate the company of others but due to their aloof nature, they don’t often receive it. Those under the Aquarius sign might not seem to fit initially, but at their core, they embody these values

.

Dr. Manhattan from Watchmen is different from every other hero due to having superpowers. He stands alone, experiencing time in a completely nonlinear and non-dependent way, He tries to get close to a few people, but they are frightened by his godlike quirks and might. Dr. Manhattan might not be “evil,” but his reality doesn’t fit in with the world around him and he embodies values that work only for him. He’s a true Aquarius in the way he breaks the mold.

Pisces – Hancock

Image of Will Smith as the superhero Hancock.

Pisces, the final sign of the zodiac, is a sign all about renewal. These days, a lot of people are rediscovering the movie Hancock, and it’s experienced a minor revival. The Will Smith-lead superhero project showcased a superhero who was somewhat callous and uncaring, often acting rudely.

Hancock starts out as a complete jerk version of Superman. He’s distrustful and has difficulty opening up for fear of his past coming to haunt him. Pisces can sometimes exhibit these same traits but is able to overcome this through their adaptability and open-mindedness. Both Pisces and Hancock learn to become truly great, with Hancock finding public redemption in the end, serving as a great reminder that any of these “Evil Supermen” have positive traits.
