Plastic surgeon reveals which A-listers – from Bella Hadid to Khloé Kardashian – gone under knife

A Beverly Hills plastic surgeon exposed the secret procedures that he thinks stars have undergone, from nose jobs to eyelid surgeries and everything in-between. While Dr. Charles S. Lee hasn’t actually treated any of the celebrities in question, he does have expertise in how facelifts, liposuction, and fillers can change a person’s face. And in a series of viral TikTok videos, Dr. Lee analyzes ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures of stars like Kendall Jenner, Ariana Grande and more, speculating on the work he thinks they’ve had done. The first star Dr. Lee addressed was Kylie Jenner, 24. He thinks she has had a lot more work done than just her famous lip fillers. 

‘I think she had her chin shaved, her buccal fat removed, her temples lifted [via brow lift], in addition to narrowing her nose [with rhinoplasty], and injections to her upper lip,’ he says. Buccal fat removal, which involves removing some cheek fat, especially along the jaw line , seems to be a popular procedure amongst the stars, based on Dr. Lee’s speculations. Despite his assertions that Kylie has had all these things done, the reality star herself has insisted that she has only ever had fillers. Pictured: Kylie in 2013.  

‘People think I fully went under the knife and completely reconstructed my face, which is completely false,’ Kylie told Paper magazine in 2019. ‘I’m terrified. I would never. They don’t understand what good hair and makeup and, like, fillers, can really do,’ she added, while confirming again that she has had lip fillers. In another interview with Grazia in 2015, Kylie pointed out that she became famous as a child, and many people’s faces changed naturally as they age into adulthood. ‘I haven’t had plastic surgery. I’ve never been under the knife. People flash back to pictures of me when I was 12 and say “Kylie’s so different,” but how can I look the same from 12 to 18?”‘ she said. Pictured: Kylie in 2020. 

For part two of his series. Dr. Lee examined photos of 25-year-old Bella Hadid. ‘I think she had nose surgery, eyelid surgery, liposuction of the neck, buccal fat removal, and the filler to her cheeks and to the forehead,’ he says. 

There has been much speculation about whether Bella has had work done to her face, with some insisting she looks unrecognizable from how she looked as a teenager and pointing out that her nose is an entirely different shape. Pictured: Bella in 2010.  

Bella, of course, has also adamantly denied that she’s gone under the knife. ‘People think I got all this surgery or did this or that. And you know what? We can do a scan of my face, darling. I’m scared of putting fillers into my lips. I wouldn’t want to mess up my face,’ she told InStyle in 2018. Pictured: Bella in 2020. 

As for Ariana Grande, 28, Dr. Lee compared a recent photo to one of Ariana when she was about 15 years old, starring on Broadway. He said he thinks she has had ‘a brow lift, upper eyelid surgery, a lid tilt, rhinoplasty, and chin surgery,’ but added: ‘I kind of like the way she looked before.’ 

Like the others, Ariana has also denied surgery, saying that any changes her face and body went through are just signs of puberty since she, too, was famous at a young age. ‘On the cover of some magazine they said, “Oh, Ariana Grande: boob job, brow lift, cheek shaving, lips done.” I was like, “You’re comparing a picture of me from when I’m 14-years-old to when I’m 21, and I’m wearing a push-up bra,”‘ she said in a 2014 video, according to People. ‘That’s why I’m on the cover of Star magazine and they’re saying I got plastic surgery. Then, in 2019, she responded once again to speculation that she’d had a nose job. ‘Hayyy this my birth nose,’ she tweeted. Pictured: Ariana in 2018. 

Dr. Lee also compared photos of Khloé Kardashian, 37, listing the most procedures on one person yet, but exclaiming, ‘Wow, she looks amazing.’ He thinks she’s had ‘a procedure on her forehead [forehead graft], she’s had a fox eye surgery, including a temple lift and an eyelid corner lift, buccal fat removal, liposuction of her neck and chin area, bone surgery along her mandible and chin, veneers, lip fillers, and multiple rhinoplasties’. Khloé has been plagued by plastic surgery rumors for years, as well as accusations that she relies heavily on Photoshop. 

While Khloé has mostly ignored the speculation, she did deny getting a nose job in 2013, though she admitted her mother wanted her to get one from the time she was a child. ‘Words are the most powerful weapon; they can leave scars forever. She didn’t mean harm, but when I was around nine I overheard my mom telling her friend I needed a nose job,’ she told Cosmopolitan UK. ‘I was shocked; I hadn’t even thought about it. I’ve grown into my face but I’ve had makeup artists tell me, “You should get a nose job.” I’m so happy that I never have.’ Pictured: Khloé in 2008. 

However, during the final episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians,  The Reunion Part 2, admitted to the show’s host, Andy Cohen, that she has had one nose job. Khloé said: ‘No one’s ever asked me. You’re the first person that’s ever asked me in an interview about my nose.’ She also shared she has done injections, aka fillers, but said her body didn’t react well to Botox, so that’s off the table.

In Dr. Lee’s TikTok video, he also discussed Demi Moore’s alleged facelift, which fans noticed after she appeared on the Fendi runway in Paris this year, looking noticeably different. ‘She has classic joker lines after a facelift,’ he says, pointing to a runway photo. ‘Joker lines occur in facelifts [on] patients with at-risk anatomy, particularly flat, large cheekbones.’ 

‘At-risk patients have a hint of a line in the pre-operative position, and when you pull on the skin, that line will get very deep and obvious. This type of problem can be avoided by not entering this space during surgery and fat grafting it instead,’ Dr. Lee said. Pictured: Demi in 2017. 

Though Demi, 59, didn’t directly address claims that she looked ‘unrecognizable’ at the Fendi show, she has denied getting plastic surgery in the past. ‘It’s completely false – I’ve never had it done,’ she said in 2009. ‘But I would never judge those who have. If it’s the best thing for them, then I don’t see a problem. On the other hand, I don’t like the idea of having an operation to hold up the aging process – it’s a way to combat your neurosis. By 2019, she admitted to Elle UK that she had had some work done, just not to her face. ‘You know what? Maybe one day I’ll go under the knife,’ she added. ‘It just irritates me that people are constantly saying how much I’ve spent on plastic surgery.’ 

Kendall Jenner is the latest member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan the doctor analyzed. Like her sisters, she has also adamantly denied going under the knife. 

He says: ‘From here, I can see that she’s had a brow lift, as possibly part of a fox eye lift, including the lower lid corners. What I also see is her upper eyelid has a little bit more platform, so that could be a byproduct of the brow lift, or additional eyelid surgery. For the nose, what I see is she’s got some internal valve collapse here,’ he says, pointing to her ‘before’ picture, ‘I notice the width and a little bit of roundness of the tip area, which is improved [in the after photo]. ‘She’s got beautiful teeth,’ he goes on. ‘I think she’s probably had some lip fillers, and probably some botox and other fillers as well. But regardless, I definitely agree she’s the most natural-looking Kardashian.’ Pictured: Kendall in 2019.  

In 2017, Kendall, 25, also denied surgery. ‘As a model, why would I have my face reconstructed? It doesn’t even make sense,’ she told People.

Dr. Lee has said that he doesn’t even need before-and-after pictures to know that Ashley Tisdale, 36, has had rhinoplasty. Pointing to a more recent photo, he said he could see ‘internal valve collapse and buckling at the tip,’ which are clear signs. 

Unlike most celebrities, Ashley publicly admitted to having work done on her nose in 2017 to correct a deviated septum that had contributed to breathing problems. While doctors operated, they also shaved the bump down on her nose. No knife! ‘The older I got, the worse it got. I went to get it checked out, and the doctor told me the septum was 80% deviated and that I had two small fractures on my nose,’ she told People at the time. Pictured: Ashley in 2007. 

Later, Ashley got more candid about the surgery, saying that the worst part was the public reaction after the fact, which she called a ‘traumatic’ experience. ‘In the aftermath, and the hardest part, was not the recovery but the media who constantly tried to paint a picture of me as someone who didn’t like their appearance,’ she wrote in a blog post on her website, Frenshe. ‘I loved myself, but I was just a very unaware person at that time (as you all have seen my wardrobe choices LOL!). I was proud of who I was back then, and still proud now. I was scrutinized, judged, and made to feel ashamed over my decision,’ she added. 

As for 22-year-old Madison Beer, Dr. Lee says that it looks like she hasn’t had any surgery at all. While he does think she’s had lip fillers, and maybe botox to accentuate her eyes, he’s convinced she hasn’t gone under the knife.
