REPORT: RHONJ's Joe Gorga Sued for $30,000 After Allegedly Failing to Pay Construction Bill for New Home

Joe Gorga is facing legal drama after allegedly skipping out on a bill owed to a construction company that worked on his and Melissa Gorga‘s newly built mansion in Franklin, New Jersey.

According to an October 17 court filing, the Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member is being sued for not paying contractors $30,000 for the construction of his family home, which the couple has been showing off on Instagram in recent weeks.

According to the affidavit, which was obtained by All About The Tea, via Radar Online, County Concrete Construction filed the lawsuit against Joe’s business, Morristown Loft Development LLC.

“Between September 2021 through January 2022 the plaintiff COUNTY CONCRETE CORPORATION provided materials to the Defendants,” their legal filing stated. “Upon information and belief these materials were utilized for various construction projects.”

“The Plaintiff provided materials to the Defendants with a value, inclusive of finance charges, of $30,264.06,” it added.

The documents went on to accuse Joe and Melissa, who were reportedly served the lawsuit on November 14, of receiving building materials from County Construction before failing to pay the bill.

“The Plaintiff has attempted on multiple occasions to contact the Defendants and has apprised the Defendants of the amount of monies due and owing,” the court document continued. “The Defendants failed to pay the monies owed to the Plaintiff for the materials that were previously provided.”

The County Concrete Corporation claims Joe and Melissa breached their contractual duties and is seeking the past due amount, as well as damages pertaining to the bill, attorney’s fees, and the potential cost of the lawsuit.

As RHONJ fans may have seen, Melissa took to her Instagram account on November 18, just days after she was reportedly served, to reveal she was moving into the new home to her fans and followers.

“New beginnings! It’s all happening. It’s finally moving day,” Melissa’s message read, in part. “Wish us luck! Can’t wait to show you more of the house!!”

If a court rules against Joe and Melissa, the Gorgas will owe more than their unpaid construction bill due to the damages requested by the plaintiffs.

In recent years, Joe has been accused of shoplifting from a Home Depot store, stiffing another business named Starlite Window for over $17,000 of work they provided, and other unpaid work.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 13 is expected to begin airing on Bravo in early 2023.
