‘Super Mario Bros. Movie’ Gets Final Trailer As Tickets Go On Sale

The final trailer for the highly-anticipated Super Mario Bros. Movie was shown off by Nintendo and Illumination in honor of Mario Day. Tickets for the film were also put on sale following the trailer’s release.

The new trailer showcases a number of never-before-seen elements for the Mario franchise, including Donkey Kong using a Fire Flower and one of the cosmic Lumas being able to speak. Fans also see the return of the Sand Kingdom which first debuted in Mario Odyssey.

The upcoming Mario film has left fans divided. Many don’t enjoy the style of Illumination’s animation or the fact that Chris Pratt will voice Mario instead of his traditional actor, Charles Martinet. However, the overwhelmingly positive reception to this final trailer suggests that this movie will be a super star at the box office!

Who else is attached to the Super Mario Bros. movie?

The Super Mario Bros. Movie also features the voices talents of Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Sebastian Maniscalco as Foreman Spike, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek and Khary Payton as the Penguin King. The movie is being directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic from a script by Matthew Fogel.

Nintendo and Universal are co-financing The Super Mario Bros. Movie, with the latter handling the distribution. Illumination, which is co-owned by Universal, has previously worked on Despicable MeMinionsThe Secret Life of Pets, and Sing.
