Supergirl Actress Sasha Calle Reacts To First Trailer For ‘The Flash’

Sasha Calle is showing her excitement about Supergirl’s The Flash appearance.

The Flash is set to feature a new live-action take on Supergirl, with rising actress Sasha Calle bringing the DC Comics icon to life. With the first official trailer for the movie now available on the web, showing Supergirl in action alongside Batman and The Flash, Calle has shared her thoughts on the recently-released sneak peek.

A Supergirl movie was is currently in development at DC Studios, but it’s unclear if Sasha Calle is reprising her role as Kara Zor-El. The movie is taking inspiration from the critically-acclaimed DC Comics run Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which was written by Tom King, with artwork by Bilquis Evely.

Warner Bros. recently moved up the release of The Flash to June 16, 2023. The movie is now hitting theaters one week after Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and two weeks before Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

The Flash is one of the final DC Comics movies arriving before James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe plans become a reality. Warner Bros. Discovery already has a script for a potential sequel to The Flash, written by Aquaman scribe David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. However, Gunn and Safran did not discuss the Flash sequel during their DC Universe presentation.

Who else is attached to the Flash movie?

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash is inspired by the Flashpoint comic book storyline, which followed Barry Allen as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles.

In addition to Ezra Miller, The Flash also features Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as two separate versions of Batman, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora-Ul and Sasha Calle as Supergirl. Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso and Luke Brandon Field are also on board in undisclosed roles.
