Teyana Taylor forced to reschedule Connecticut show after ‘body gave out’ and the singer went to ER

Teyana Taylor landed in the emergency room after her ‘body gave out,’ and she was forced to reschedule the Connecticut leg of her farewell tour.

The 30-year-old music artist wrote the news on Instagram in the early hours of Sunday morning. 

Underneath a photo of her lying in a hospital bed, the Harlem, New York native began her caption, ‘Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for all the warm love, sweet videos & prayers from my CT rose petals…. I love y’all!’

‘Thank you for being so understanding. Y’all know Petunia don’t miss no shows & most importantly, know I’ve been leaving it all on tha stage for a month straight 1000%,’ the singer-songwriter continued, referring to her alter ego. 

In the photo of her in the emergency room, the mom-of-two sported a brown beanie and was layered in a white hospital sheet and a plush, black blanket as she threw up a peace sign. 

Although recovering from burnout, the star flashed a hint of glamour with her meticulously manicured long nails and carefully arched brows that stood out above her disposable white face mask. 

As she spoke directly to her CT fans she went on, ‘So I am really saddened to have not been able to do the same for you last night. My team & I tried everything down to the very last second to get me out on that stage, but my body simply just gave out, which actually started a few days ago.’

Taylor’s hospital stint seems to be a result of exhaustion, as she remarked on the photo sharing app, ‘SHUT DOWN, my body actually low key betrayed me cause ah b—-h was tryna get on that stage.

‘Y’all know I’m with the s—-! y’all have seen me with a broken foot and all types of other crazy shit but still got on that stage and bodied it,’ she said, noting past performances that she endured with physical ailments. 

Then she came back to a more serious note: ‘But honestly you have to listen to your body and know when to sit down; or it will definitely sit you down….. in the ER.’

The My Super Sweet 16 alum assured concerned fans that she was being replenished with ‘proper fluids and nutrients’ and would spend the next few days recovering.

The entertainer has been hard at work as she prepares to retire from performing. 

The Last Rose Petal Farewell Tour featured a string of twelve shows throughout North America, but the Rose in Harlem hitmaker will have to circle back to her fans on the northeast coast.

‘I promise I will be back to CT rescheduled and better than ever & all tickets will be honored for yesterday’s show!!!!’ the artist mentioned in her lengthy comment.

Her last show is scheduled for Tuesday, November 30 in Atlanta. 

Teyana took to social media on Friday to show some gratitude after Thanksgiving. 

‘DMV & Phillyyyyyyyy back 2 back whewwwwwwww,’ she typed, adding red rose and burning heart emojis. 

‘What a way to bring in thanksgiving! I’m so thankful for the love, tears, joy, laughter, a beautiful surprise from my hubby & overall genuine energy you all gave me… I’m thankful. Thank you for taking one of my final bows with me. I will forever & always love you,’ Taylor finished.

It accompanied a slew of outtakes from her tour. 

Teyana is married to NBA star Iman Shumpert, who recently won season 30 of Dancing with the Stars. The two share daughters Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr. (aka Junie), five, and Rue Rose Shumpert, one.
