Ticketmaster is in hot water again.

A few months after the debacle of Taylor Swift‘s The Era’s Tour presale, the ticket vendor is in the hot seat again after fans were refused entry to a Bad Bunny concert in Mexico City over the weekend.

The hitmaker’s final stop of his World’s Hottest Tour turned away hundreds of fans who had tickets. Ticketmaster cited an “unprecedented number” of scalped tickets as the cause of the problem.

Ticketmaster Mexico addressed the situation with a post on Twitter.

“This caused an unusual overcrowding and the intermittent operation of our system, which generated confusion and complicated entrance to the stadium, with the unfortunate consequence that some legitimate tickets were denied entry,” they explained, according to a translation provided by The Washington Post.

They vowed to refund fans who had picked up “legitimate tickets” but were blocked from attending. The error will wind up costing the company more than that, though.

The Washington Post reports that Ricardo Sheffield, head of Mexico’s consumer protection agency, expects Ticketmaster to refund the cost of the tickets plus an additional fee of 20%. The company is also expected to pay a fine totaling 10% of its 2021 earnings.

Ricardo alleged that many of the tickets were legitimate, and that the venue was sold beyond capacity by Ticketmaster.

Ticketmaster is also at the center of an investigation at the Department of Justice. By the way, did you know that some Swifties have one more chance to secure tickets to The Eras Tour?
