Tom Brady has some thoughts about Janet Jackson‘s 2004 Super Bowl halftime show, during which she infamously caused her tremendous career damage afterward.

If you didn’t know, CBS parent company Viacom enforced a blacklist of her songs and music videos on many radio formats and music channels due to the “wardrobe malfunction” incident, and the FCC fined CBS for upwards of $550,000.

“I think in the end, it was probably a good thing for the NFL because everyone got to talk about it,” he said on his most recent episode of his Let’s Go! podcast.

“It was just more publicity and more publicity for halftime shows. Is any publicity bad publicity? hat’s what they say, so who knows?” he continued.

His comments faced a lot of scrutiny on social media, as many people called out the many ways Janet was punished for many years since her performance alongside Justin Timberlake, who participated in the “malfunction” but faced no repercussions.
