Tom Cruise went to the extremes to announce the official streaming date of Top Gun: Maverick!
The 60-year-old actor, who reprises his role as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, actually jumped out of a plane to surprise fans with the date of the release on Paramount+.

The video debuted during CBS’ Sunday NFL coverage over the weekend, where Tom took a break from filming Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning shooting to thank fans for tuning into and supporting his movies throughout the year.
“Hey everyone, here we are over stunning South Africa, where we’re filming Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning parts one and two, and I didn’t want the year to end without thanking you all for coming out to the theaters and thank you for supporting Top Gun: Maverick,” he said in the video before his jump.
He added, “Thank you for supporting Top Gun: Maverick and thank you for allowing us to entertain you. It truly is the honor of a lifetime.”
“I’m running out of altitude, so I have to get back to work. We have to get this shot. You have a very safe and happy holiday, we’ll see you at the movies.”
Following his jump, the streaming date of the movie was revealed – December 22.
