Tyrese is addressing an incident from 2017 regarding a now-deleted Instagram post where he ranted about Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, and a $5 million loan. The actor is now confessing that the moment was tied to a reaction to strong depression medication.

Tyrese Previously Announced That The Smiths Gave Him $5 Million To ‘Stay Off The Internet’

Back in November 2017, Tyrese took to Instagram to upload a photo of him and Will accompanied by a lengthy caption.

He started off by proclaiming the Smiths had given him $5 million to “keep [the family] afloat.”

“My wife kept the news away from me ’cause I’ve been on with lawyers all day, but our family and our sister Jada Pinkett Smith and my brother Will Smith just sent us 5 million dollars to help keep us afloat.”

Tyrese then proceeded to say that Will and Jada also urged him to take the incentive to “get off and stay off the internet.”

“You’ve guys asked me to get off and stay off the internet now that my daughters legal fees will be paid!”

He wrapped by noting, “The Smiths and their whole family has always shown up for the Gibsons.”

However, TMZ swiftly denounced Tyrese’s claim, noting that a source close to the Smiths acknowledged they were allegedly worried that the Baby Boy actor was suffering a “mental breakdown.”

Now, Tyrese is speaking out and addressing what prompted his puzzling upload, and he says it has to do with a popular antidepressant medication.

The Actor Says He Had ‘The Worst Adverse Effects Ever’

During a recent appearance on the Sway’s Universe podcast, Tyrese spoke of how an adverse reaction to Rexulti was the cause of the situation.

He broke down how, because he doesn’t drink or use recreational drugs, the medication left him with “the worst adverse effects ever.”

“For someone who doesn’t use drugs, you put some s**t like Result in my system, it’s going to have the worst adverse effects ever.”

He then referenced the Will Smith situation, as well as some other antics, before remarking that he was actually “out of [his] mind” during that period of time.

At this point, we should add that listed side effects for the drug note that people can experience “strong unusual urges,” including—but not limited to—compulsive gambling, sexual urges, and binge eating.

What do you think about Tyrese’s revelation, and have you heard similar stories of people experiencing negative side effects from antidepressants?
