Walmart Shooter Wrote a “Death Note” Before Mass Shooting In Virginia

Just hours before a Walmart supervisor killed six of his colleagues in Virginia, he purchased a pistol and wrote a “death note” on his phone, according to local law enforcement officials.

The gunman, identified as Andre Bing, 31, killed his coworkers on Tuesday, sparing one coworker who had cancer because the shooter’s mother died from cancer, the death note said. The Chesapeake police released a redacted death note from the shooter when they “conducted a forensic analysis of the suspect’s phone,” according to a tweet.

The note said his coworkers mocked him and compared him to serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. The note ended ominously: “My God, forgive me for what I’m going to do…”

In a separate tweet, the police said the gunman used a 9-millimeter handgun, which was “legally purchased” the morning of the shooting. “He had no criminal history,” the tweet said.

On Thursday, officials tweeted: “On this Thanksgiving, we are extra thankful for our community and we are thinking of every victim of the Walmart shooting and their family members. There are still two people injured in the hospital, one in critical condition and the other in fair/improving condition.”

On Wednesday, President Joe Biden made remarks and called for gun reform: “Because of yet another horrific and senseless act of violence, there are now even more tables across the country that will have empty seats this Thanksgiving.” He added, “We must come together as a nation… We must take greater action.”

Senator Tim Kaine (D-Va.) wrote on Thursday on Twitter: “Following the Chesapeake and UVA shootings, it’s been a hard week in Virginia, and I’m thinking about those who have empty seats at their Thanksgiving dinner after losing loved ones. My heart is with you on this holiday.”
