Wendy Osefo Talks RHOP Scene that Upset Mom, Costars Trying to “Ice” Her “Out,” & Robyn Dixon Using Her

Dr. Wendy Osefo is opening up about the drama on the Real Housewives of Potomac.

The star, who has four degrees and is a political commentator, joined the show in season five, and was immediately liked by fans.

In her sophomore season, however, many viewers (and certain cast members) began to question her storylines and seemed to insinuate she wasn’t being authentic.

In a recent interview with Carlos King on his “Reality with the King” podcast, Dr. Wendy was asked about how she’s changed since season one. The star explained she “absolutely” feels a difference, and season-one viewers saw her “rawest form,” as she had just had a baby and didn’t care about “aesthetic[s].”

Later in the podcast, Dr. Wendy indicated viewers are now seeing her “like a child rebelling,” because most of her life she’s lived for others, and is currently making decisions for herself.

“So I want the boobs, I want to get my body done,” she said. “If I do candles, I can do candles … Why not do a restaurant?”

She hinted her mother wasn’t happy about a scene she filmed with Karen Huger, when Wendy asked her for business advice.

“Even my mom called me about that scene, and my sister,” said Wendy. “My mom was like, ‘Not you talking to Karen … What the hell you need Karen’s advice for?’ She said more, but you know I ain’t gonna say.”

She added, “You know my momma. She doesn’t hold her tongue about nothing or no one.”

Wendy said she was surprised by Robyn Dixon‘s actions last season, given their “off-camera” friendship. Last season, Robyn questioned Wendy about branching out into multiple career paths.

Regarding Robyn’s confusion, Wendy stated, “We saw Robyn go from selling and flipping houses to selling beauty supply store hats to doing whatever she’s doing … So let me understand. It’s ok for her to change her career path and explore different things, but I can’t?”

In Wendy’s opinion, Robyn questioned her choices to create a storyline. “She never even asked me that off camera,” said Wendy. “It was me watching the episodes with you guys, and I’m like, ‘wait, that’s how you feel?’”

She claimed Robyn was playing a game of “connecting the dots … laying the foundation” to make it look like Wendy had plastic surgery because of a “false rumor” about her husband Eddie.

Wendy then addressed her ‘hot mic moment’ that was captured earlier in the season, when she called Mia Thornton a liar after allegedly calling out Robyn for doing the same thing.

Wendy revealed that the moment occurred with the showrunner Eric while she was “crying” to him, due to her previous drama with Robyn. At the time, Robyn did not invite Wendy or her kids to a family fun day.

“[Robyn] did not budge,” said Wendy. “She was like, ‘I don’t care, I don’t care about those kids.’”

Addressing Mia’s drink toss, Wendy described it as “wild” and said that, in the moment, she was thinking about all she’s accomplished and whether or not “retaliating” was worth “losing all of those things.”

Wendy explained it was a “split-second decision.”

Carlos then addressed a sit-down conversation with the cast after the “altercation” between Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard Bassett. He asked Wendy if the same “grace” was given to herself after the drink toss.

“Y’all are gonna see a lot of people eat their words,” teased Wendy.

She also said viewers will “see” – beyond the family fun day – people “doing everything in their power to ice me out.”
