Bryce Harper is set to return to the Philadelphia Phillies (70-55) for the first time in two months when the team hosts the Pittsburgh Pirates (47-77) on Friday in the first contest of a three-game series. Harper has been out since June 25 when his left thumb was broken by a pitch from Blake Snell. Harper was hitting .318 with 15 homers and 48 RBI at the time of his injury. Philadelphia is a -285 favorite in the latest Phillies vs. Pirates odds from Caesars Sportsbook while Pittsburgh is a +228 underdog.

First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. ET at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. The game is one of 15 on the MLB schedule for Friday. Elsewhere in the majors, the Braves and Cardinals start a key three-game series in St. Louis, and the Rays put their six-game winning streak on the line against the Red Sox in Boston. Before making any MLB picks or parlays, be sure to see the predictions and betting advice from SportsLine’s proven computer model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every MLB game 10,000 times, and it is a 305-263 on top-rated MLB money-line picks since the start of the 2021 season. This is the same model that pegged the 2021 Atlanta Braves at 10-1 as one of three best bets to win the World Series. Anybody who has followed the model has seen profitable returns.

Now, the model has locked in three confident MLB best bets for Friday. They all involve games at 7:05 p.m. ET or later, so there’s still time to get these MLB picks in. If you successfully parlay the picks, you’d be looking at a payout of almost 17-1. You can only see the model’s MLB picks at SportsLine

The model, which ran 10,000 simulations on each of Friday’s games, likes San Francisco (+110) to knock off Minnesota. The Giants (61-62) are closing out an eight-game road trip and have won two of their last three games. Meanwhile, the Twins (62-61) are one of the coldest teams in baseball, having lost six straight games, which is tied with the Angels for the longest active losing streak in the majors.

Minnesota has gone cold at the plate as during the losing streak, the Twins are slugging just .254, which is the worst in the majors over that time. They also are averaging just 2.0 runs per game; only the Angels (1.8), Nationals (1.8) and Padres (1.3) are averaging fewer runs over the last week. See who else to back right here.
