Two more conferences will crown tournament champions on Monday as college basketball’s postseason enters a new week with just six days remaining until Selection Sunday for the 2023 NCAA Tournament. Louisiana and South Alabama are set to square off in the Sun Belt final while Furman and Chattanooga will play in the SoCon title game.

The matchup between the No. 1 seed Paladins and No. 7 seed Mocs in the SoCon is a rematch of last year’s thriller that Chattanooga won at the buzzer. Though the Mocs are just 18-16, they have won three games in the past three days amid the return of sharpshooting center Jake Stephens from injury.

In the Sun Belt, South Alabama is just the No. 8 seed and is tasked with facing a Louisiana team that it lost to twice during the regular season. But the Jaguars have emerged as one of the nation’s hottest teams in recent weeks with eight wins in their last nine games and 11 in their past 13 since a 2-7 start to league play.

Six other league tournaments are also in action on Monday, including the Big Sky, which produced a stunning upset on Sunday when No. 9 seed Northern Arizona beat top-seeded Eastern Washington 81-80 on a buzzer beater to end EWU’s hopes of reaching the NCAA Tournament.

With teams fighting to extend their seasons and Big Dance bids on the line, it is officially the best time of year in college basketball. Though the power conference tournaments don’t begin for a few more days, many of the tournaments underway are for one-bid leagues. They are sure to produce plenty of joyful and chaotic scenes to highlight the days leading up to Selection Sunday.
