Australian aerial skiers Danielle Scott and Laura Peel have won gold and silver, respectively, at the World Cup event in Engadin, Switzerland.

In sunny conditions, Scott and Peel made a great start by qualifying for the finals in first and third place.

The wind picked up later in the day, with Peel the only female athlete electing to use the spectacular triple back somersaults, advancing to the super final in first place with 99.42 points, while Scott was second (88.83).

In the super final, Scott added an extra twist, executing a high-scoring, double full-full (triple twisting double back somersault) to score 98.70 points and claim her third World Cup victory of the season and eighth of her career.

The 32-year-old’s success added to the world championship silver medal she won last week in a career-best season.
