F1 LIVE: Hamilton hangs Mercedes engineers out to dry, emotional Schum

Lewis Hamilton has blamed Mercedes for the teams woes as he claims engineers didn’t listen to him.

The British F1 ace star stressed he “knows” what a car needs and admitted he had previously pushed Mercedes in a direction to solve the problems.

However, Hamilton claims this advice was not acted upon which could be to blame for the Silver Arrows poor start to 2023.

He told the BBC’s Chequered Flag podcast: “Last year, I told them the issues that are with the car.

“Like, I’ve driven so many cars in my life, so I know what a car needs, I know what a car doesn’t need.

“And I think it’s really about accountability, it’s about owning up and saying ‘yeah, you know what, we didn’t listen to you, it’s not where it needs to be and we’ve got to work’.”
