Dead Cells: How to Start The Return to Castlevania DLC

[ad_1]

The Return to Castlevania DLC of Dead Cells creates a chance to start exploring new biomes tied to the iconic series, after finding a familiar face.

The Return to Castlevania DLC of Dead Cells pays homage to the series that inspired this rogue-like title with new biomes, bosses, and much more for the player to discover once they figure out how to start this nostalgic expansion. Players must fulfill a single prerequisite during their run before the DLC can be accessed, but this step doesn’t take much time. As soon as players download this additional content, they gain access to an incredible new adventure and several outfits related to the Castlevania series they can unlock.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Unlike the previous trilogy of DLC content that concluded with The Queen and the Sea in Dead Cells, The Return to Castlevania only unlocks when players have either died or restarted their run three times. However, upon spawning after the third death or restart, players will notice many large red bats fly across their screen, indicating that the DLC can be found. The procedural generation of Dead Cells does affect the exact spot where players can find the beginning of the DLC, but it is always found within the Prisoner’s Quarters biome.

How To Begin The Return to Castlevania DLC in Dead Cells

Dead Cells Return to Castlevania DLC Meeting Richter Belmont in Prisoner's Quarters After Restarting Run at Least 3 Times

The champion of a night’s symphony, Richter Belmont, shows up in the Prisoner’s Quarters immediately when players start their fourth run from this region. Talking to Richter initiates the hero to lead players through several pathways to a new biome called the Castle’s Outskirts. A myriad of new weapons in Dead Cells can be found in this area, along with a variety of fresh enemy types that reference the basic foes seen from the Castlevania franchise. This marks the start of the DLC, as players traverse unique areas and eventually meet other characters like Alucard during their journey.

However, before players begin fighting through the Castle’s Outskirts, they should level up or stock up on items before talking to Richter. Unlike other starting regions past the Prisoner’s Quarters, like the Toxic Sewers or Dilapidated Arboretum, the Outskirts are far tougher to challenge. For players just getting into the game due to this DLC, new features include ease-of-use systems and even a training mode included in the Dead Cells Practice Makes Perfect update. The difficulty presented when players start the Return to Castlevania DLC in Dead Cells only adds to the fun, giving players an experience that hearkens back to a gaming genre’s roots.
