Genshin Impact Leaks: New 5-Star Character Momoka May Be A Lifesaver

Genshin Impact’s new 5-star character Momoka may be a lifesaver for many different team comps, according to new leaks about her. Momoka’s design description and her Vision type had previously been leaked, indicating that she would be a lady with feline aspects and a Geo Vision. In addition to that, she allegedly hails from the region of Inazuma. Very few details about her had actually reached the open-world RPG’s community, but new Momoka leaks shed more light on her.

It is uncertain when Genshin Impact’s new 5-star Momoka will be added to the game as a playable character seeing that she has not even been seen as an NPC. Of course, she could debut simultaneously as an NPC in the story and a featured drop in the limited-time character banners in Genshin Impact. It is likely she will be added after Version 3.6, since the confirmed new characters for the next update are Baizhu and Kaveh. Seeing how her leaks are still based on descriptions rather than actual footage, it is also possible she may arrive even later.

Genshin Impact’s Momoka May Be A Geo Shielder

According to new details provided by the popular Genshin Impact leaker Merlin_Impact on Twitter, Genshin Impact’s 5-star character Momoka is Geo sword user with focus on shielding the team. The leaks indicate that her Elemental Skill has a tap and a hold version, much like Zhongli’s Dominus Lapidis. If both versions provide Geo shields in Genshin Impact, players may have a decent substitute for Zhongli or Noelle. How it will ultimately work, however, is still unknown. In fact, it is not even confirmed that she will actually be a 5-star character and her speculated tier may change by the time she arrives in the game.

Will Momoka Be Better Than Zhongli In Genshin Impact?

It is hard to determine whether Genshin Impact’s new 5-star character Momoka will be better than the main Geo shielder in the game at the moment, Zhongli. The Geo Archon from Liyue has a solid skill set which makes him an easy choice for teams who seek protection. His Elemental Skill cooldown is quite short and building him to improve his shield strength is also easy, even if there are few weapon options. Nonetheless, Zhongli in Genshin Impact is the best option for granting shields to party members.

If Genshin Impact’s Momoka is indeed a 5-star Geo shielder, she may be Zhongli’s first competition so far since Noelle is hardly up to the task. Provided Momoka’s Elemental Skill creates a satisfying shield, that may just be enough to rival the Geo Archon. In fact, she may even surpass him in popularity thanks to her design. According to illustrations shared by SagiriShape on Twitter, which were created based on description leaks, Momoka has a young female body type with long blonde hair, blue clothing, and ornaments in her hair that make it seem like she has cat ears, despite having regular human ears.

With the potential to be one of the best Geo characters in Genshin Impact, the new 5-star character Momoka is still, allegedly, a work in progress. As such, she is also subject to change, across all fronts, including Vision type, used weapon category, and even skill set. Momoka has still yet to be confirmed as a planned character for Genshin Impact by developer HoYoverse, but it may only be a matter of time before that happens.
