Mackenzie Edwards Files For Divorce From Teen Mom Star Ryan Edwards

Court documents show that Mackenzie Edwards has officially filed for divorce from ex-Teen Mom star Ryan Edwards & obtained custody of their children.

Teen Mom alum Ryan Edwards’ wife Mackenzie Edwards has officially filed for divorce. The couple has been at odds for a while now and has been making headlines for the past couple of months. Despite their departure from Teen Mom, the pair have still been in the spotlight, as Ryan shares a son with current Teen Mom star Maci Bookout.

According to Us Weekly, Mackenzie, 26, filed for divorce from Ryan, 35, on Monday, February 27. The court documents that were obtained by the publication stated that along with filing for divorce, she also was granted a restraining order against Ryan. Mackenzie has also gained temporary custody of their two children, Jagger and Stella. The couple was married for six years and their relationship was shown from time to time on Teen Mom, since Ryan was a part of the show after he became a father to his oldest son, Bentley, with Maci.

Teen Mom’s Ryan Has Two Warrants Out For His Arrest In Tennessee

Since departing from the show, the couple has been in the news quite a bit for their tumultuous relationship. Ryan has been known for his struggles with substance abuse and has been making erratic posts on social media recently. At the beginning of February, Ryan made some posts to his Instagram, which have now been taken down, of some revealing photos of Mackenzie. She in turn filed an order of protection from him, and he broke that shortly after which led to his arrest. He has since been released, but the police have now issued two warrants for Ryan’s arrest. One for stalking Mackenzie and another for violating the protective order she still has against him.

Over the years there has been a lot of drama on Teen Mom, which is what makes up a large part of the show. The whole premise is bound to be dramatic, which does make for a more compelling show. Ryan and Mackenzie had a jarring moment on the show when they headed to their wedding, and they were being taped in the car. It revealed Ryan driving and barely able to keep his eyes open or on the road due to some sort of substance abuse. Lots of people took issue with this scene and were worried about Mackenzie ever since.

The Teen Mom franchise has gone in a lot of directions over the years. From its beginnings with 16 & Pregnant to its currently running shows like Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, it has kept fans entertained for years. The real and raw documentary-style capture of these subjects’ lives has shed a light on a lot of different lifestyles and experiences for people to learn about or even relate to. While it can be difficult to learn about someone else’s difficulties, it is always good to be able to follow along to see someone like Mackenzie begin to move out of a bleak situation. Hopefully filing for this divorce is the beginning of a happier life where she isn’t weighed down by any negative situations.
