Teddi Mellencamp Shades Kathy Hilton, Suggests RHOBH Star is “Clueless” and “Self-Centered”

Teddi Mellencamp weighed in on Kathy Hilton‘s People’s Choice Awards drama during a recent episode of her shared podcast with Tamra Judge, Two Ts in a Pod.

Nearly two weeks after the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member attended the December 6 ceremony, where Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star Mariska Hargitay nabbed the award for Drama TV Star of 2022 for her long-running role as Olivia Benson, Teddi reacted to Kathy reapplying her lipgloss amid the actress’ heartfelt acceptance speech.

After Tamra admitted she didn’t “know [Kathy] well enough to read into what she was doing,” Teddi criticized the RHOBH friend.

“As a viewer, I would just say that [Kathy] was just freaking clueless, like she’s probably a self-centered person and just thought like, ‘Oh I’m going to get up here and dig in my bag.’ Like every person knows that’s disruptive,” Teddi said, via Heavy.

According to Teddi, she feels Kathy should have allowed Mariska to have the spotlight as her co-stars and fellow presenters had done.

“You saw all the other women walk away, everyone knows — this isn’t her first rodeo, regardless of if she was trying to be rude or trying to get a laugh, like don’t make everything about you,” Teddi demanded. “There’s some things that really aren’t.”

After receiving an immense amount of backlash for her on-stage antics at the PCAs, Kathy offered a statement to Extra TV, insisting that she didn’t have ill intentions and confirming she’d reached out to Mariska privately.

“I actually thought I was going to sneeze, and you don’t want to hear me sneeze, it’s the loudest sneeze,” Kathy explained on December 9. “So I was looking for a tissue, and I didn’t have a tissue or a hanky, so I got a little nervous and just put some lipstick on.”

“It was during her speech, so I thought, the camera’s not going to be on me. I didn’t think I was in that shot,” she continued, insisting she felt “terrible.”

“I adore, and I respect Mariska very much, and I already have reached out to her, DMed her, I want to get her address, I feel terrible,” Kathy added. “I would never do anything to be rude intentionally, and I’m really sorry. It was my first time being back on stage with some of the girls, too.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 is expected to begin filming in early 2023.
