A toddler accidentally killed his mother, according to police. MTO News learned that the 1 year old shot his mom in the head after finding a loaded handgun in their apartment. The mom was on a work related video call when she was shot, according to police in Florida.
21-year-old Shamaya Lynn was talking to a work colleague over Zoom when the colleague heard a loud bang and then saw Shamaya fall backwards and fail to return back on the screen.
A video purporting to show the Zoom call is circulating on social media. The video shows a woman talking, and a toddler walk up behind her and appear to fire a single shot. MTO News has decided not to link to the video, as it is too graphic.

The co-worker dialed 911 and told dispatchers she believed Shamaya had been shot.
MTO News has learned that detectives believe Shamaya’s toddler discovered a loaded handgun which belonged to his father and shot his mother in the head at their home in Altamonte Springs in the outskirts of Orlando.
Officers and paramedics did their best in rendering aid to Mrs Lynn and tried to revive her, but ‘she was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the head,’ police said.
Another toddler was also inside the home, neither of the children were injured.
An investigation is ongoing as to whether the owner of the firearm will face criminal charges.
