DALLAS — Officials with Dallas Fire-Rescue are now looking into what started a three-alarm fire at a South Dallas apartment complex Saturday evening.

Firefighters noticed smoke coming from the three-story building when they arrived. They then made their way inside and found the fire burning in the walls of the building.

Around 60-70 firefighters were called to help at the scene.

The DFR said all residents were evacuated safely and those who were impacted by the fire are now working with apartment management to figure out living arrangements.

As of 10:41 p.m. Saturday, DFR officials were still looking into the extent of the damages. They did report that 24 apartments were affected, 10 of which were occupied by residents. There was also a partial roof collapse and damage mostly on the second and third floors.
